As the former "guy who knew the most about computers" (aka IT person) when previously employed for an IQMS customer, I was always concerned about buying the right periphery hardware to work with the various IQMS software pieces, not to mention configuring it to connect to EnterpriseIQ. Couple that with reduced office staff and employees having to wear many hats, who has the internal resources or time to research, buy and configure periphery hardware devices these days?
The Solution
As IQMS continues to expand our software offerings, it is only natural for us to grow our hardware side of the business. For years, we have offered hardware to connect to your shop floor equipment to monitor production. Now, in addition to the RealTime hardware, we are offering a complete line of devices to compliment our software offerings. So now when you want to run ShopData on the floor, IQMS can also supply you with an ELO touch computer or touch screen for a turn key solution. Other products offered are Dell servers, Motorola scanners and mobile computer devices for use with our WMS software, and Zebra barcode printers and Setra scales for use with production reporting or our Carton Builder application.
On the EnterpriseIQ server side, the process is straightforward for new customers and existing customers that want to upgrade their aging servers. Upon receipt of your order, IQMS will order the servers and have them shipped to our office. Once received, we configure the hard drive partitions and the operating system and then install EnterpriseIQ and test the installation. We pack it back up and ship it out to your facility. Once it has arrived at your facility, our install techs will work with you to get it up on your network and you are off and running with new equipment.
No More Finger Pointing
I remember the hours spent on the phone trying to get technical support on a hardware device and once I finally got through to someone, they would end up blaming the software application or have me try a new firmware/driver to get it to work. Now if there is an issue with your device functioning, you can contact the same vendor that provides you with the software that runs on it. IQMS will have already tested the device in house with EnterpriseIQ to ensure that it functions as intended.
IQMS is now in the hardware, peripheries and automation projects business. Point your finger at us, we won’t let you down!
