When it comes to family, I have been very blessed in my life. I lucky enough to have my wonderful father around to this day and he gives me great advice. I try everyday to follow in his footsteps and pass all of his values, passion, compassion and strength on to my son.
I could go on and on with many stories about growing up and my dad. He was my coach in almost all my sports endeavors, was always available to help with school, is a great family leader and has his own business. I reach out to my dad all the time for advice, but rather than tell all of you my personal stories, I would love to hear from you instead: What is the best advice your father gave you?
For me, I would say that more than the words and advice my dad bestowed on me, it was his actions that had the greatest impression. He did not just talk about different things, but rather lived them out so his actions were his words. Almost all of his advice comes from stories from real life experiences. I use that trait daily when trying to live out my life, and when I try to discuss topics, I use stories to make my point (I steal some of his stories too, they are good ones!).
