IQMS Blog for Manufacturing ERP Expertise
IQMS does not contract with third-party VARs or outside implementation consultants, but instead employs a large staff of in-house trainers, application specialists and sales team members. These IQMS "feet on the street" spend nearly every week of the year in manufacturing plants across the globe, listening and learning about developments in our industry. This constant pulse of what's happening in the market has revealed a few common trends that we can expect in 2014. So before the shine of a new year begins to fade, let's take a look at my predictions for the coming year:
Today’s blog post marks the end of our series offering a peek into the daily lives of IQMS’ directors. From human resources to testing and training to development, meet the key department leaders who are molding our company’s future and continually advancing the EnterpriseIQ ERP and MES software.

Now that we have numerous customers using our new RTStations in their manufacturing facilities, I would like to take a moment and discuss the many uses this device offers. The second iteration of IQMS’ shop floor device, the RTStation 10.1, was soft launched a few months ago to our customers based on their valuable development feedback to the legacy RTStation (for example, the more modern version offers a larger screen (10 inch versus 7 inch) and wireless capabilities to allow more flexibility on the shop floor - Manufacturers can now mount the RTStation to a forklift for improved inventory tracking and warehouse management). Much of the success of a program like this is not possible without our customers’ valued input and it is always a great feeling to provide our users with products that resulted from their direction and feedback.
One of the most common questions the hardware group at IQMS receives from customers is: "How can we clock in our employees?" There are several technologies available to perform the clock in process in our manufacturing ERP software, EnterpriseIQ, but first I want to provide a little background on what is happening behind the scenes.
IQMS' Automation Group is working on four new mobile applications that are bound to be popular: Bill of Lading Signature Capture, Carton Builder, Inventory Transactions and Maintenance and Repair Operations (MRO) are joining IQMS' suite of mobile apps and the IQMS Application Manager!
As gifts begin appearing under the tree and the New Year’s champagne chills, we take a moment to ponder the year past and consider the possibilities of the year ahead. A lot has occurred in 2012, both at the national level in the form of a recovering economy and a presidential election, and at the global ERP supplier level, including mergers and acquisitions, disquieting lawsuits and new product innovation.
IQMS attended the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) ERP Conference last week in Cleveland. The event was held in an interesting format in that the ERP suppliers were allowed to give a brief overview of their software and company, followed by a case study opportunity for a customer to discuss their success with the supplier’s ERP system. While IQMS was not able to have a "live" customer attend, we were able to show a video from one of our customers: Gill Industries, Inc., a full service provider of engineered assemblies and metal stampings in Grand Rapids, Mich. [Click here to view the video of Gill's IQMS Manufacturing Success Award finalist nomination]. Feedback from the attendees at the show indicated that they could really relate to IQMS’ presentation as it showed a real company using its manufacturing ERP software in action.
